Perhaps I can help...My aim is to build confidence and capability in individuals or teams so they are able to implement health and safety systems themselves.I have been a health and safety professional for over 20 years, working in the areas of consulting, auditing and enforcement. This experience means I am able to articulate information so it is easily understood and applicable at an operational level. I have extensive knowledge and expertise in working with businesses in many sectors and of various sizes, successfully adapting my delivery to ensure individual business needs are met.I am based in North Canterbury and am committed to serving the local community for their health and safety needs. As well as helping keep workplaces safer, I have a husband and two little Sutcliffe's that keep me busy, and a growing food forest to nurture and nibble.Professional Qualifications

Coaching / Consulting
Don't know where to start? Perhaps you have bought a health and safety package but it sits on the shelf. I can help get this implemented and working for you; making it part of your everyday operations.
Policies / Procedures
Sometimes documenting what you do in practice can be challenging and time-consuming. I am well-practiced in writing policies and procedures in consultation with you and your workers, whether it is whole management systems, or some areas which need improvement.
Critical Risk Management Systems
What systems do you have in place for managing your critical risks? I can work with you and your workers to identify, control and document the health and safety risks you have in your business.
Training
As well as consulting with businesses, I facilitate workshop sessions with staff or managers on a variety of topics. Communicating and engaging with workers is a fundimental part of making the systems work.
Auditing
The value of auditing your current systems is often overlooked. Carrying out internal audits is a great way of seeing where the system is working well and where there are opportunities for improvement. As a trained auditor, I can help with this and provide an action plan for the next steps.
Governance
How much do you, your board and other Officers know about your legal obligations under current health and safety legislation? A presentation or training session may be helpful to clarify your responsibilitiies. Get in touch to book a session.

This health and safety audit programme is aimed at companies operating 5 or more heavy goods service vehicles, of more than 3,500kg.
